When I heard the Thai islands were flooded, I knew I needed to alter my plans and find a way to stay north for a while. Myanmar was brought to my radar earlier in the year when a friend who'd travelled there told me I'd be a fool not to go when visiting Asia. I saw one photo of Bagan and was convinced I had to see this place with my own eyes. I flew out on December 9th and for two weeks was captive to the incredible charm and colourful character of this place, a melting pot of Asian culture and a devastating clash of incredible landscape and impoverished community - this is a place you have to experience first hand. We travelled to the gritty capital of Yangon, then upward to Inle Lake, through magical Bagan and finally to Mandalay. Here are some of my favourite captured moments along the way...
